Work Experience
2021–2026 — Sr Creative Director & Head of Design — Datamaran
» Owned the product design strategy and design systems roadmap across five releases, governing DesignOps-informed workflows and UX/UI architecture in an Agile environment, scaling the design function from 1 to 10 across product, UX, and user research disciplines.
» Led design leadership at the intersection of UX research, regulatory data landscape mapping, and product strategy — translating complex ESG, risk, and compliance narratives into human-centered design decisions informed by 100+ enterprise research engagements, shaping executive vision and OKRs.
» Drove cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to align creative direction with roadmap priorities, while pioneering an AI-native design practice (Bolt.new, Cursor, Figma MCP) that saved ~2,000 hours annually and delivered high-stakes data visualisations for Fortune 500 Annual Reports (Nike, Amazon, Philips, Deloitte, and more).
2014–2021 — Creative Director — Datamaran
» Invented the Datamaran name, designed the trademarked logo, and built brand strategy and visual identity from zero — earning placement on Nasdaq and Guggenheim platforms and establishing the creative foundation that sustained the brand through Series A–C funding rounds.
» Pioneered the first-ever online materiality matrix app (2017), crafted investor materials, policy briefs for 100+ firms, taglines, campaign positioning, and event branding — defining the brand voice across all executive and market-facing touchpoints.
» Transformed complex regulatory and strategic intelligence data into resonant visuals across social, campaigns, and executive storytelling; co-grew the Valencia office to 60 (120 globally across 4 hubs) with co-founders and CTO, and set the design processes and governance that scaled into a full multi-discipline department.

Education
2002–2006 — Honours BDes, Photography. HKU (University of the Arts, Utrecht)
Utrecht, Netherlands
- A trajectory in photographic design that grounded me in a broad, cross‑disciplinary practice, combining photography with graphic design, digital & web design, typography, fine art, illustration, and moving image. I worked through installations and new media, including experiments with 3D and material space as well as digital imaging tools, treating photography as an expanded design discipline that moved fluidly between image, object, environment, and interface.
2001–2002 — Philosophy, Rijksuniversteit Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands
