Approach
Listening to the place. Photography rooted in how spaces shape the people within them, from studios and offices to streets and landscapes. Inspired by Wim Wenders’ approach of discovering the story that a place wants to tell, each image frames person and environment as a single atmosphere rather than separating them. Filmmakers, directors, CEOs, creative entrepreneurs, communication experts, and models appear as part of a larger context that reflects their work and influence. All photography by Bart Dykstra.
This approach enables clients to present their leadership and creative vision with authenticity and presence. Photography grounded in real environments strengthens brand narratives for magazines, publishers, and cultural institutions while also serving corporate communications, personal branding, and high-stakes public profiles. The work supports leaders who want their image to convey credibility, depth, and a human connection to the spaces where their ideas take shape.
I have applied this practice across Amsterdam, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Finland, Spain and the UK for editorial and corporate clients including Adformatie Magazine, Creatie Magazine, De Persgroep, MTV Netherlands, Bacardi, TomTom N.V., Spyker N.V., Rijksmuseum, University of Amsterdam, Prometheus Publishing, and the Royal Dutch Medical Association (KNMG). The photography serves executives, directors, authors, and creative leaders who need imagery that works across magazines, corporate websites, annual reports, book launches, and public profiles.
