More News From Nowhere
More News From Nowhere is a project in which Bart Dykstra (1981, The Netherlands) photographs unposed and isolated expressions of tension in people’s faces that are seen in urban non-places, in which nothing happens obviously or is recognizable, yet they seem to be part of the same global culture.
Photographed in different capitals of the world, these photographs echo a direction towards intercontinental indivisibility on a relational and dialogical level that is simultaneously spatial/temporal, central/marginal and closed/open-ended that offers a transformative view of considerable generative potential. Facilitating portrayal observations under the umbrella of a coherent idea of space, the portraits in these urban non-places shape at the same time a personal space analysis by which space both creates and is created by human interchange.
More News From Nowhere is a continuing project, wherein the main capitals Dublin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Helsinki and Paris have been first to generate the content of this work.
